Porters Sports located in Truckee, CA started selling winter equipment the same year the Olympics came to Squaw Valley in 1960. In 1982, Porters added snowboards – making it one of the oldest dealers in the country.

49 years later, it now has three main stores on the North Shore, 1 outlet store and a rapidly growing website. Porters is still majority owned by the Chapman family and run by CEO John Chapman.
