A. Store Setup

This is a mandatory area that must be setup in order to continue with your system. The store setup area allows you to input your store's name, address, phone number, gift certificates numbers, and if you have Retail Star - your license information.

B. Taxes

This area is mandatory to setup, if you charge sales tax to your customers.

C. Department, Class, Subclass

This step allows you to departmentalize your database and add classes and subclasses to each department. After you choose this option, you will be able to choose if you are setting up for a hardgoods store (Bikes, Hardware, Gift etc..) of a softgoods store (Clothing, Shoes, etc..). For those stores that carry both hardgoods and softgoods, you will want to review both the hardgoods and softgoods areas.

It is mandatory to setup departments but, classes and subclasses are optional.

D. Size Matrix

This is a mandatory field. For hardgood products use the N/A code. For softgoods you can create a code with multiple sizes and subsizes that match the product.

E. Color

This is a mandatory field. For hardgood products use the N/A code. For softgoods you can create multiple color codes and add them to the product.

G. Reason Codes

Reason Codes are mandatory for adjustments and disocunts...this area will allow you to setup the reasons for doing these functions such as why a discount is being done at the register, why a return is to be done...etc...

H. Tender Maintenance

Tender Maintenance is only needed if you are setting up custom tenders for your system. Custom tenders would be coupons, pay pal for eBay, etc...

You can, when setting up your tenders, determine if you wish to pop the cash drawer or force a customer to be attached to the sale.

I. Employee/Security

This is mandatory if you wish to setup for employees to access the system and you do not wish them to see sensitive infromation that certain reports can give you.
